It's only two more days before the opening of Art x 9, an event organized in conjunction with Les Journees de la Culture. Art x 9 combines an art show with activities, and it's all free!

At left, you can see a mosaic of art work details from each of the pieces made by artists involved in the show. It's just a sneak peak, though, and to see the full pieces, you'll have to come to our show, which opens on Friday, September 30 at 10am, and goes until 5pm on Sunday, October 2nd.

The vernissage is this Friday, from 5 to 7pm. Please drop by for some wine and nibblies to help celebrate our event. Don't forget to RSVP for the vernissage and/or show by clicking here.

There will also be several free activities: For more info, check out the Culture Days web page.

See you there!

What I enjoyed the most about this collaboration, is that it gave artists an opportunity to get to know one another and the public to get to know them. A sharing with the artists in a very informal fashion.
I also had a design painted on my hand which made me feel like a piece of walking art. I never wanted it to wash off.
The child that got his face painted like Spiderman was beaming his new look adding courage to his personality. The joy was apparent.
The jewelry piece was a collection that looked like something Cleopatra
would be only too proud to wear, while some art resembled the streets of Montreal in the age of horse and carriages, flowers still growing next to winding staircases.
I got to hear about stories of horses and share some of my own.
My only regret was that there were not more pieces for my eyes to feast on. The refreshments were wonderful as was the spirit of those present. I could here the awesome Ohs and Ahhs of children next door selecting precious beads for their own creation. What was most appreciated was the capacity of these Artists to communicate and share their creation in warm manner with clarity, simplicity, and with a sense of humor.
